Nā Pua ʻĀina o Waipiʻo, Waipahu High School

Looking for a nice and thoughtful gift for your mother on Mother's Day or for a special teacher, co-worker, or partner as appreciation? We have the exact gift basket you are looking for! It is called the Hoʻonānea Package (or relaxation package) which contains everything a person could use to unwind and relax. It contains a lovely bar of pōhinahina & lavender soap, a pōhinahina & lavender lotion bar, and a packet of 5 individual māmaki tea bags.

Pōhinahina is a plant native to Hawai'i that has been cultivated on the campus of Waipahu High School. This plant has been known to help soothe irritated skin, but did you know that lavender oil has proven antibacterial properties and is non-comedogenic! The smell of lavender is also known for its ability to calm the nervous system, lift the mood and even lower blood pressure. Māmaki is also a plant native to Hawai'i that has been cultivated on the campus of Waipahu High School. Each Māmaki tea bag can be seeped in hot water to create a delicate herbal tea that is good cold or hot. The benefits of Māmaki tea is it promotes a healthy immune system; reduces high blood pressure and lower cholesterol; cleanse toxins from the blood as well as releases stress and fatigue. All this relaxation goodness in one package and at a discounted rate compared to purchasing separately. Mahalo!

About Us:

The Academy of Natural Resources at Waipahu High School has a mission to prepare all students to become environmentally conscious practitioners of aloha 'āina (environmental stewardship) who contribute personally and professionally to a sustainable world. Our brand, Nā Pua ʻĀina o Waipiʻo, expresses how the students are stewards of the land and cultivate it for production. The YEP program has provided the students with a way to showcase their hard work. It has also provided a learning experience of creating a value-added product to market and sell.
